Shortwave Atlas
For shortwave listeners

See what you’re hearing.

Shortwave Atlas connects to your radio and turns every frequency you tune into a place on the map. Spin the dial and the globe flies to the transmitter, traces the path across the day/night line, and tells you who’s on the air, how far away they are and when they broadcast next.

Shortwave Atlas tuned to WRMI on 5850 kHz: the station list, the globe with the transmitter sites and the listener’s location, the station card and the band scale

Your radio, on a map

Tune, and the globe follows

About 2,000 frequency and station pairs from 170 transmitter sites, from the EiBi schedule. Search by station, country, language or kHz, or click a transmitter to list what it broadcasts. Tune 5850 and you’re looking at Florida.

Plug in your radio and go

Pick your model from Hamlib’s list of hundreds of rigs, choose the serial port and press Connect. If the radio doesn’t answer, it tells you why in plain words.

Settings, Rig: a Yaesu FTDX-10 selected from the Hamlib model list and the status Connected

Listen from anywhere

Turn on Listen and the rig’s own audio plays in the app, or in any browser on your network or Tailscale, with an audio waterfall alongside.

Settings, Audio: Listen to the rig, with the rig’s USB audio codec listed first
